OrthoNorCal doctors took the challenge to prepare Aptos Mariners for another successful year of athletics. With over 100 students in attendance at the 2016-2017 Aptos High School Sports Physicals, OrthoNorcal and the rest of the team were kept on their feet until the last sports physical exam was finished.
On Monday, August 1st 2016, OrthoNorCal providers Dr. Nicholas A. Abidi and Dr. Christian S. Heywood performed over 100 sports physical exams. OrthoNorCal clinical assistants, Clay Christensen and Jaime Madrigal, also joined them along with Score Physical Therapy to perform sports physicals. Students from Aptos High School lined up and waited for the required testing needed by athletes every year.
During the sports physicals, the clinical team created several stations for the students. At these stations, the team evaluated the students’ height, weight, blood pressure, vision and balance. To top off the sports physicals, OrthoNorCal doctors also tested the athletes to make sure they were fit to perform on the field or on the court and reviewed their injury history.

While sports physical testing might seem routine-like, it’s important that athletes regularly see their physicians for it.
