OrthoNorCal proudly announces that Dr. Kevin Murray has been named Team Physician for PRO Rugby team, San Francisco Rush, from the first ever professional rugby league established this year.

With five teams across North America competing for victory, Nigel Melville, chief executive of USA Rugby, hopes to increase the continued interest in rugby following college. Over 1.2 million people currently play rugby according to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association and the creation of Professional Rugby Organization (PRO) leads to a wider reach of sports fans. While there’s only five teams this first season of PRO rugby, the organization hopes to expand the number of teams as the public becomes more familiar with the sport. Not only does PRO rugby create a path for rugby to grow as a sport among the North American audiences, but it also allows the athletes to exemplify the core values of rugby: integrity, passion, respect and teamwork (PRO Rugby).

When San Francisco Rush chose Dr. Murray, orthopedic surgeon, to be the team physician, they also chose to provide their team with the best care. Dr. Murray’s experience as a team physician extends from local high schools and sports events all the way to US Open Track and Field Championships, Team USA Hockey and more. His subspecialty in Sports Medicine provides Dr. Murray with the expertise needed to assure the team that they will be well cared for in and out of the field. Dr. Murray dedicates his time helping patients become active again through a personalized approach that combines surgical methods along with his sports medicine knowledge. Besides from working with various sports teams, Dr. Murray also practices in OrthoNorCal located in Campbell, CA. Dr. Murray’s other specialties include elbows, knees, and shoulders.
